We, in the hospitality industry have been taught almost our entire careers that the guest comes first. To leave our feelings at the door. When the curtain is up, curtain is up - aka, pretend and become robotic if you are having a rough day. This is really tough. Because YES, the guest are REALLY important, the hospitality industry would not be alive and bustling without them! But I'm here to teach your a different narrative. I have spent decades studying human behavior while operating and opening restaurants. I have observed how teams train, how to get them inspired, and how to create space for them to feel safe to be themselves and express what's going on without crossing the boundary of getting too personal. I take a lot of pride in my work.
So what does it mean then to redefine hospitality from the inside out you ask? It's simply explained, not so easily done but you need to be ready to "just show up" if you are ready to join me in paving the way to a more sustainable hospitality industry. In this school, our humans & our team comes first so we can better show up for each other and our guests. And I'm excited you are here!
We will get a little uncomfortable in order to get really clear on what your pillars are. Learn what your language is by redefine words so they are individual to YOU! And then we will learn how to communicate this outwards while building your individualized toolkit so you always have your way home to you not matter if you have a hard day, a REALLY magical day or a neutral one.
